Eternal Rest Grant unto Them O, Lord.
Is anti-semitism about someone else? If we are Christians, our faith has an oft-ignored legacy of ignoring and demonizing the Jewishness of Jesus. If we say “Jesus is the loving, caring antithesis of the God of the Old Testament,” we unwittingly engage in an anti-semitic heresy known as Marcionism.
My instructor, Samuel Loncar, wrote this essay, Antisemitism is our Problem. He read it today in class in place of our regular lecture.
The Christian’s faith in Jesus Christ is dependent upon faith in the God of Israel. Period. If we, as Christians, lose sight of that fact, we negate the Jesus whom we worship. I hope you’ll read the essay.
Grace and Peace.
